Aid2Day x MedTalksForTeens:
Shadowing Summit
Over 50 attendees from all over the world joined Aid2Day and MedTalksforTeens for their inaugural Shadowing Summit, an exclusive opportunity to gain invaluable insights from renowned neurosurgeon and neurooncologist, Dr. Walavan Sivakumar. During this virtual event, Dr. Sivakumar shared his extensive knowledge and experience in complex cranial surgery, including his focus on minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques. This was an incredibly rare chance to hear from a leading expert in the field and learn about the latest advances in neurosurgery. In addition to his expertise in treating tumors of the brain, skull-base, and pituitary, as well as cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and carotid stenosis, Dr. Sivakumar is widely recognized for his innovative "keyhole" technique. He employs advanced technology and microsurgical techniques to minimize collateral damage to the brain, resulting in faster recovery times and better outcomes for his patients.

About Dr. Sivakumar:
With over 50 peer-reviewed publications and a reputation as a sought-after speaker at both local and national events, Dr. Sivakumar has received numerous awards for his groundbreaking research in cranial surgery and tumor biology from esteemed organizations such as the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), Rocky Mountain and Western Neurosurgical Societies. His current research focuses on enhanced recovery after cranial surgery and skull base surgery outcomes, and he serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Neurosurgery and Frontiers in Surgery (Neurosurgery section).

With the support of our generous donors, our team raised thousands of dollars to finance two gift baskets! In addition to the monetary contributions, our Events & Programs team hosted their keynote "Mental Health Matters" webinar, speaking out about the importance of social well-being and support during cancer treatment.
